I bought this computer to replace a previous laptop and was absolutely amazed by the performance of this machine. It was able to play Fallout New Vegas, World of Warcraft, Team Fortress 2, and a couple of older games such as Battlefield: Vietnam all on pretty high graphics very smoothly! I was getting a minimum of 50fps on WoW, even during hectic battles. The 1GB graphics is outstanding, especially for a laptop! It will also output 3D movies onto a compatible 3D TV, but i haven't had a change to check this out yet.
The laptop sound is also second to none, I have heard the HP Envy Beats edition, which sounded great...but next to this it was just a regular laptop. JBL have produced some outstanding speakers for this and it just sounds phenomenal, perfectly loud enough for drinks before a night out or just for music around the house. It is also incredibly comfortable to type on for long periods, as I often find myself doing at the library, and the weight isn't too bad to carry into uni.
I cannot recommend this laptop enough, if you are looked for a good quality produced at a reasonable price, look no further as this is it! You won't be disappointed.
Lack of USB port on right hand side of machine means you need to trail mouse wire behind machine.
Also the CD/DVD drive is on the right hand side of the machine which tends to be the side I have the mouse and other bits and pieces!
Also there are only 2 USB ports.
The touch pad is way too big and the keyboard is not comfortable to use.
I am getting a lot of RSI (repetitive strain injury) when using this machine which I never got on my Inspiron 6000.
On the plus side the sound quality is very good.
